Curriculum Review Process

Details (Where we've been)

The review process for the mathematics curriculum began in the fall of 2023 and is ongoing. The Math Leadership Team, which is comprised of teachers, math coaches, math interventionists, building administrators, and district administrators, representing all buildings and grades K-8, is leading the review process. The team's work has involved a comprehensive review of current documentation and data, research and best practices, as well as extensive discussions about process standards and mathematical proficiency, all to clarify the path forward. The primary goal is to design a coherent, vertically aligned, rigorous, guaranteed, and viable curriculum for students. 

Timeline (Where we're going)

• September/October:

  • Vendor Presentations from Potential Math Pilot Publishers
  • Math Pilot Resources Selection and Pilot Planning
     

• November/December:

  • Vertical Alignment of Math Instructional Practices and Philosophy
  • Math Pilot Trainings for Participating Grades 5-8 Teachers
     

• January-May:

  • Grade 5-8 Pilot
  • Grades K-4 Pilot Preparation
     

• Fall of 2025-2026 school year:

  • Grades K-4 Pilot
     

• Spring 2025-2026 school year:

  • Choose Curricular Resource and Plan for Implementation in 2026-2027 School Year
