In fourth grade, students continue to take on more responsibility for their learning. They experience a variety of historical periods through the reading and social studies units and showcase their learning in a number of ways that incorporate the arts, technology, and presentations.
The math program includes many hands-on experiences; the science curriculum is rich and inquiry-based. One of the highlights of fourth grade is an overnight adventure with faculty members and classmates. Students challenge themselves via team building and personal reflection and return with a much stronger sense of self and their place as the leaders of the school.
Fourth grade studies include: learning to play the recorder, Immigration, The Underground Railroad, and The Ancient Americas, specifically the Mayan culture.
