We are excited to plan for a traditional Adventures in Learning (AIL) summer program following a two year hiatus.  The health and safety of our students and staff remain our highest priority, and the Adventures in Learning Summer 2022 program options will adhere to the District’s mitigation plans, currently outlined in the "Return to School Guide 2021-2022" on the District website (www.winnetka36.org). These guidelines will be revised to reflect updates to procedures and protocols as needed.

Registration for Winnetka residents will be live on the District Webstore at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9th, 2022.

    Registration for Non-residents will begin at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 16th, 2022.

Adventures in Learning 2022 Program Details:

The Adventures in Learning 2022 program will run from June 16th-July 20th. There are two programs (General and Primary) offered for families.

Our General Program is designed for students entering 2nd grade through 8th grade and will be held at the Skokie School. Classes are held Monday - Friday, 8:50 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.

The student’s day is divided into four class periods. You must register for all four periods to take part in the Adventures program.

    Period 1: 8:50 - 9:30
    Period 2: 9:35 - 10:15
    Period 3: 10:20 - 11:00
    Period 4: 11:05 - 11:45

Our Primary Program provides stimulating activities for children Pre-K (4 years old by June 1st, 2022) and K - 1st Grade (5 years old by September 1st, 2022).

These activities are carefully chosen by the professional staff to encourage growth in all areas of development. Activities are constructed in a child-centered environment and arranged around the needs of the group. Certified teachers structure a fun-filled day centered on read alouds, art projects, outdoor activities, math readiness activities and social interactions. The students look forward to the engaging activities, water play on the hot summer days, and meeting new friends. A certified teacher and one assistant teach each classroom. Each primary student is assigned to a classroom for the duration of the program.

The Primary Program will be housed at Crow Island School, 1112 Willow Rd, Winnetka, IL 60093. The program is held Monday - Friday, beginning at 8:35 a.m. and ending at 11:30 a.m.
