2022 Primary Program Information

  • We are excited to plan for a traditional Adventures in Learning (AIL) summer program following a two-year hiatus. The health and safety of our students and staff remain our highest priority, and the Adventures in Learning Summer 2022 program options will adhere to the District’s mitigation plans, currently outlined in the "Return to School Guide 2021-2022" on the District website (www.winnetka36.org). These guidelines will be revised to reflect updates to procedures and protocols as needed.

The Primary Program provides stimulating activities for children Pre-K (4 years old by June 1st, 2022) and K - 1st Grade (5 years old by September 1st, 2022). These activities are carefully chosen by the professional staff to encourage growth in all areas of development. Activities are constructed in a child-centered environment and arranged around the needs of the group. Certified teachers structure a fun-filled day centered on read alouds, art projects, outdoor activities, math readiness activities and social interactions. The students look forward to the engaging activities, water play on the hot summer days, and meeting new friends. A certified teacher and one assistant teach each classroom. Each primary student is assigned to a classroom for the duration of the program.

The Primary Program will be housed at The Crow Island School, 1112 Willow Rd, Winnetka, IL 60093. The program is held Monday - Friday, beginning at 8:35 a.m. and ending at 11:30 a.m.

A welcome email message will be sent in June and will include instructions about The Crow Island School use, parking, and teacher assignment. Please use your preferred email address when registering your child, as the welcome materials are no longer mailed.

Tuition for the Primary Program is $650.00 for Winnetka residents, and $700.00 for non-residents, which includes a non-refundable $75 deposit. Tuition is based on five (5) weeks of attendance. Pro-rating tuition for any reason is not possible due to the fixed costs of the program. Tuition in full is paid online at the time of registration using our online registration system. There will be no tuition refunds made after the summer session begins on June 16th, 2022.

Please complete the registration form online, available March 9th, 2022 at 12pm.

No guests will be allowed to attend either the Primary or General program of Adventures.

Transportation is not provided during the summer session. Car-pooling is encouraged. Special drop-off instructions will be included in the welcome letter sent in June. Children should lock their bicycles when parking on school grounds.

There are a limited number of scholarships available for Winnetka residents. For further information, please contact Brad Goldstien in the district office.
