Primary Program
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Primary Program provides stimulating activities for children who are four by September 1, 2008 and entering Jr. Kindergarten through grade 1. These activities are carefully chosen by the professional staff to encourage growth in all areas of development. Activities are constructed in a child-centered environment and arranged around the needs of the group.
Teams of classroom teachers and aides have been assigned to Greeley School. Children will use all available resources to further develop skills they have acquired. They will be engaged in art, physical-motor development activities, nature study, creative dramatics, children’s literature, reading activities, and number experiences for enjoyable skill development. Special consideration will be given to the social, emotional and intellectual needs of each age group. Teachers will conduct activities outdoors as often as possible.
The Primary Program will be housed at Greeley School, 275 Fairview, Winnetka. The program is held Monday - Friday, beginning at 8:45 a.m. and ending at 11:45 a.m. Instructions about Greeley School use, parking, and teacher assignment will be sent with registration materials in June. Please telephone the school, 446 – 6060 if your child is absent.
TUITION
Tuition for the Primary Program is $500.00 ($550 non-residents), which includes a non-refundable $75.00 deposit. There will be no tuition refunds made after the summer session begins on Thursday, June 19. Tuition must be paid in full by the first day of Adventures, June 19. Payments should be mailed to Adventures, Hubbard Woods School, 1110 Chatfield Road, Winnetka, IL, 60093. Payment on June 19 may be made at the front desk of either Skokie or Greeley School. Please make checks payable to the Winnetka Public Schools
OPTIONAL INSURANCE
As a service offered to interested parents with children enrolled in the ADVENTURES IN LEARNING program a school insurance program through the Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company is available. Cost of the program, which includes $2500.00 accident coverage for all program activities and a rider for sports coverage, is $8.00 per child. If you are interested in obtaining insurance coverage for your child, please check the box on the registration form and include the $8.00 charge in your total fees.
If you would like to be notified that your child's registration form has been received, please provide a stamped, self-addressed postcard/envelope with your registration form. Please do not call the office.
In order to alleviate long lines on the first day of school, tuition statements, and postage costs, ADVENTURES would appreciate full tuition payments at the time of registration. Full tuition refund (except for registration fee) will be made only prior to the first day with a written request. General Program
The General Program is offered to prospective second through eighth graders. Courses offered can be found on the courses page. Please note the grade level and period(s) the course is being offered. Grade level refers to the grade the child will enter in September 2008.
The General Program is held at The Skokie School, and is divided into four class periods. This year there will be a shuttle bus to take Adventures’ Students to fishing at the Tower Road Beach Pier, The Glen, and the Skokie Lagoons.

Please study the schedule of classes with your child. Choice is important to his/her satisfaction in the learning process. Consultation with teachers or advisors may aid in your decision.
Date of receipt of the registration form will be used for placement in the GENERAL PROGRAM. If you would like to be notified that your child's registration form has been received, please include a stamped, self-addressed postcard/envelope with your registration form. Please do not call the office. Registration forms must be mailed.

Period prices include the non-refundable $75.00 deposit and are pro-rated as follows:

Parents and students will be contacted by ADVENTURES ONLY when there is a conflict in a student's daily schedule. Parents should assume their youngster will get four of his/her six choices. When classes are cancelled due to lack of enrollment, parents and students will be contacted. During the week of June 8, students will receive a daily schedule of classes and maps, indicating class and room locations.
