7th Grade Art

Experiments in Art


Art students particpate in both individual and group art activities with emphasis on process rather than on product. Creativity and problem-solving skills are developed through a variety of projects. Students will also gain an understanding of the elements of design (line, form, texture, shape, and value). Each trimester a relavant period of art history will be explored and used to inspire work.

                     8th Grade Art


This class is required for all 8th graders


Students will participate in both individual and group art activities with emphasis on process rather than product. Creativity and problem-solving skills are developed through a variety of projects. Gain an understanding of the elements of design (line, form, color, shope, and value). This knowledge will be used to complete a self-portrait. Each trimester a relevant period of art history will be explored and used to inspire studio assignments. Students will keep a visual diary and complete weekly sketchbook assignments.
